Ferrari and Toro Rosso on track at Mugello-=-Whilst the majority of the field basked in the Spanish sunshine at Jerez on Tuesday, Ferrari and Toro Rosso kicked off their three-day test at Italian track Mugello in muggy conditions. Both teams fielded one driver, with Luca Badoer in charge of driving duties for Ferrari and Vitantonio Liuzzi in the Toro Rosso cockpit.-=-

Whilst the majority of the field basked in the Spanish sunshine at Jerez on Tuesday, Ferrari and Toro Rosso kicked off their three-day test at Italian track Mugello in muggy conditions. Both teams fielded one driver, with Luca Badoer in charge of driving duties for Ferrari and Vitantonio Liuzzi in the Toro Rosso cockpit.

Badoer covered 50 laps and clocked a best time of 1m 24.633s in the F2007. The Italian tester focused on evaluating electronic components for the 2008 season and will be back in action on Wednesday.

Liuzzi, in the Ferrari-engined STR2, completed 80 laps of the 5.245 kilometre track. The Italian’s best time was a 1m 24.203 - over four tenths quicker than Badoer. The team focused on improving the car’s balance, but also carried out aero work and tested new brake materials.
